AYURVEDA AS THE CORE OF HOLISTIC TREATMENT

AYURVEDA AS THE CORE OF
HOLISTIC TREATMENT Vaidya Healthcare does not believe in Sukhachikitsa but follows a treatment
protocol that analyses the root causes of ailments and their solutions Vaidya Healthcare is a novel enterprise of a group of healthcare
experts which practices Ayurveda as its core healing system. Five years into its launch, the hospital is now Green Leaf-certified and a recipient of ISO 9001:2015 certificate. Moreover, it has successfully
established itself as an 'Ayurvedic
hospital with a difference! "The basic concept followed at Vaidya is holistic in nature," says Dr. Kiran B Nair, MD, Vaidya Healthcare. "We do not believe in Sukhachikitsa. Instead, as recommended in Ayurveda, a treatment protocol based on analysing reasons and their solutions is followed." The hospital is the first-of-its- kind to incorporate Ayurveda,
Yoga, Physiotherapy, Naturopathy,
Acupuncture, Acupressure, Me-
dicinal Herbalism, Chiropractic
and Holistic Medicine as part of a
comprehensive approach towards
achieving complete health. "Un-
like most multi-specialty hospitals,
where these departments function
as non-interacting silos, we func-
tion as a single synergic unit with
all departments working in tandem
to provide complete healing solu-
tions to the patients. All the positive
aspects of various medicinal streams
are followed here while maintaining
a strong Ayurveda Panchakarma
base," he says. Unlike the general perception of
Ayurvedic hospitals having a 'Spa'
tag, Vaidya Healthcare does not be-
lieve in the concept of 'Sukhachikit-
sa' or Spa. What is offered here is
therapeutic mode of treatment. The
centre specialises in Ortho-Neuro
VAIDYA HEALTHCARE HOSPITAL
rehabilitation and what differenti-
ates it from any other hospital is that
it provides all the facilities for the
rejuvenation of patients. The hospi-
tal receives patients from across the
globe. "International patients first
send their medical report and then a
team of doctors of Vaidya will revert
to them with a customised treat-
ment protocol. Apart from these,
the doctors also travel to examine
patients residing outside India," Dr.
Kiran informs. William Federau from the UK,
who had undergone treatment
at Vaidya Healthcare, shares his
experience thus: "I am very grate-
ful to you and your team for the
excellent support during my treat-
ment for knee joint/Osteoarthritis
at Vaidya Healthcare Hospital for
21 days. I was advised to undergo a
surgery but the excellent diagnosis
and treatment coupled with your
patience and kindness in treating me
is extremely appreciable. It was very
nice of you to have always gone out
of your way and spend your time
to explain the various procedures
of treatment and ensure that I feel
comfortable throughout my treat-
ment. Now I am able to drive."
Vaidya Healthcare can admit 40
patients at a time. It also has the
facility to produce customised medi-
cines for patients. Vaidya Healthcare
has set up a new brand 'Sreeragam
Luxury Ayurveda Retreat' at Maradu
in Ernakulam which is branded as a
premium product. The property is
targeting the European market with
a focus on yoga and wellness.
Vaidya Healthcare, currently in
the process of securing NABH ac-
creditation, also has plans to expand
to Kochi and Bengaluru. A multi-
specialty project near CIAL is also in
the pipeline for Vaidya.
